One month already! We are doing well in the Curry household. We've had a busy month. We kept busy with doctors appointments and trips to the playground, the mall and seeing friends and family. We went to Idawild Amusement Park and had a blast. Ashlyn slept in the stroller the entire time - I'm not even sure that she noticed that we were there! Aiden on the other hand had a blast.... riding all the rides in Kiddyland and even several in the big park. He loves doing it "on his own". There's a link to the pictures with this post.
Ashlyn weighed 9 pounds and 1 ounce at her 1 month checkup... everything else checked out well. She's at the 30-50th percentile for most things,... weight, height and head circumference. She has a birthmark on her right cheek, eyelid and upper lip that we need to get checked out by dermatology. Most likely - it's a port wine stain and is a permanent mark. It has lightened up a bit since birth but she'll need to have laser treatments to lighten it once she's a little older.
Aiden loves his sister but he is definitely acting out a bit. Everything is a little more dramatic.... falls are a huge big deal and everything gives him a "boo boo". We're trying to devote extra time to him - we even took him to the movies to see "Cars 2". He is having difficulty with the fact that Ashlyn sleeps in our room in the bassinet. He cries every morning when he sees her in there and now wants to sleep with us at night. We gave in one time when he was crying so hard about it at bedtime that he vomited! He's such a sensitive child. :) He's also regressed a little with potty training - if he gets upset about something or is scolded or corrected and Ashlyn is around - he'll just flat out pee on the floor! We are not going back to diapers but we've been buying extra carpet cleaner!
Mom and dad are doing well - Dad is busy with work and biking.... mom is awaiting her 6 week checkup and clearance to do a little more. Mom is reading a lot during all the bottles and is anxiously awaiting the nights when Ashlyn sleeps six hours straight. We are just about feeding her every 3 hours.
So until next month - take care everyone!
