Welcome Ashlyn! 

Ashlyn Olivia Curry was born at 11am on Tuesday, July 5th, 2011.  She weighed 7 pounds and 11ounces and was 19 inches long.  My water broke at 3:30 am and we were at the hospital by 4:30.  Jeff did a great job driving under pressure with contractions coming every 3 minutes.  Thanks to Dona (Jeffs mom) - for coming over in the middle of the night to be with Aiden.

My labor and delivery were pretty uneventful and easy.  I had an epidural by 6am and and at 10:50 - it was time.  I pushed a total of 5 times and Ashlyn was born 10 minutes later.  Melissa and Jeff were with me and my mom and dad were in the waiting room.

Ashlyn is very healthy.  She is a content baby only really cries when she needs something.  She's a little mini-mom.  Her hair is straight and brown and right now she has grey/blue eyes - we'll see if they stay blue like Jeff's or turn hazel like mine.  Ashlyn has a birthmark on her right cheek that we will need to have evaluated after she is 6 months old.  It may be temporary or permanent and if it is permanent - she will need laser treatments - so we will see.

We stayed at West Penn for 2 days and were released on thursday July 7th.  I am recooperating well and Aiden is adjusting pretty well too.  He says "I love my baby sister.  Be nice to Ashlyn".  Denver is not adjusting as well - we've been steam cleaning carpet a lot :(
