Well, Aiden made it through the first night just fine. After a short couple hour nap in the waiting room, I went in and talked to him. He tried holding my finger and was wiggling around quite a bit making strange faces at me. He's a very handsome little guy. One thing they do know is that his digestive tract is definitely working well. :)
Last night, they informed me that they are planning to remove the ventilator from him today as his oxygen intake is at about 70% (equivalent to what it was in utero). Also, early estimates for surgery are mid-week but the surgeon will better be able to give us a more definitive date later today.
Mom still doing fine. Feeling good on percocets while pumping. I know, TMI to you guys sorry. I know that she's very anxious to come see him though.
Pictures to follow sometime later today.

Ray, Grace and I will continue to keep you in our hearts and prayers. Even though we were not with you yesterday we felt like we were thanks to Aunt Melissa's text messenging! Ray kept saying "I am so stressed and I am not even there, I can't imagine what they are going through." I am confident that the outcome of Aiden's surgery will be positive and you will have a perfectly healthy little boy at home with you before you know it. Hugs to all of you!
ReplyDeleteTom, Elfi, Craig and I are so happy for the Curry family! Thank you Melissa for the constant updates...made us feel like we were there! We can't wait to meet Aiden. Kim...you were a trooper! You go girl! We love you guys! Big hugs from the Markish family!
ReplyDeleteI learned how lucky Aiden, Kimberly, and Jeff are this first night! The love that surrounds them is astonishing...from phone calls, to text messages, to blog comments, to visits starting in the wee hours of the morning, the love, well wishes, and prayers keep flowing and are endless. Kimberly had some rest this first night as I stayed with her; it was just like our childhood days. She was hot with covers flipped off and I was cold and wrapped up like a cocoon! Jeff kept her apprised of Aiden's progress through the night at Children's Hospital with text messages, email pictures, and phone calls. The doctors called Kimberly with updates and made her feel that Aiden was in "good hands" at CH.
